...listening to people play these, I'd in general characterize their sound this way:Bosendorfer - slightly warmer and very rich with deeper lower registers and more bass balance - sounds bigger and more powerful
Steinway Concert Grand - similar to Bosendorefer with slightly less bass
Steinway - again, less warm but still rich sound with less apparent bottom end
Yamaha - less warm and rich still
Of course it may have something to do with the pianists I have heard play these and their technique.
