RE: You're comparing different genres.

Intonation, range, volume, control, consistency . . . Those are some of the things I look for in a good singer. None of them have a necessary connection with classical music.

I didn't say the gals didn't perform well--it's just that they aren't that great as singers. I'd love to have my head in Diana Krall's lap while she sang about starting all over again, but I don't think she has a "great voice" or something.
