Vaughn. The woman had a operatic quality voice, and could have easily
have been an opera singer had she so desired. I suggest you listen
to here in some depth before blithely dismissing her.

Sassy has never been one of my favorite jazz singers, not because she
cannot sing jazz - she assuredly can and did, and very well - but
because her voice always sounded operatic to me, and I do not enjoy
opera.
