I don't see any connection between number of CD's to the cost of the audio system. You can divide all you want, but you only listen (usually) to one CD at a time. I have about 100CD's and a little less in SACD and it never occurred to me that I need to justify my system cost based on that number. I noticed a lot of people gobble up CD and let them sit in the racks covered in dust. I listen to every CD I have at least once a year and enjoy every one of them because about only 5% was bought on impulse.
