It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

So I have no acceptable CDs of the Jupiter Symphony - Help Me

Trotted out the Bruggen recording of the Jupiter yesterday - odd stylistically and I'm not referring to the original instruments sound which I like. There seem to be a lot of purposefully eccentric takes on phrasing and dynamics, so it's OK as an ancillary recording but doesn't serve as a main recording. (I highly recommend Bruggen's version of the 2nd set of Haydn's London symphonies (99-104), BTW.)

Of course, I love the Bruno Walter performance and consider that the reference. But the Sony/Columbia CD transfer is pretty bad and doesn't do justice to the original recording, which I remember as excellent from when I owned it on LP.

So the Jupiter is a favorite of mine and one of the great pieces ever written and I don't have a really good digital recording of it. Help.
