In a similar situation, my wife and I were attending a concert in a semi-rural setting and a visiting soloist was performing beautifully. An older woman behind us took the opportunity to unwrap hard candies every time the passage was pianissimo; I assume she thought it was a lull in the piece. After a couple of glowers at her she said that her throat was dry. I suggested she go to the drinking fountain instead. She left in a huff, never to be seen again. It was, from that point, a great performance!!
