I totally understood what you said, but more to the point I believe I understood why you were saying it. It is the latter that I found less than attractive.
Telling Teresa that her chosen compositions were simple was nothing more than a put down of her thru the descriptions of the pieces she chose as 'simple'. She has continually made it clear that her choices were nothing more than just that, her choices. I have not noticed that she has ever tried to elevate the pieces from, in your description, 'simple' to something intrinsically great or having greater value becuse of musical 'complexity'.
Whether you think any music is 'simple' or alternatively 'complex', either because of its underlying construction, or by the universality of its audience appeal, is no more interesting, to me at least, than Teresa's personal exposition when taken in the context in which it was framed. Both posts were nothing more than self indulgent, ego reinforcing, diatribes of little if any value. To me anyway, if not to others.
