Well, I am out of my mind, but that's beside the point.
If you have heard the original lps of the Carnegie material, which were perfectly good early 60s live sound, I would be surprised if you did not find the DoReMi to be boxy and amateurishly eq'd. There was no 'miracle' needed here, just a decent transfer of the original recording.
My guess is that DoReMi had a third or fourth generation tape with lots of hiss, and then decided they needed to work their magic on the top end to make the hiss go away, but did it in such a ham-fisted manner that they destroyed the natural balance of tones. But that's just a guess. In any case, what they came up with doesn't sound much like any piano I've ever heard! But if you like the sound on those CDs, so much the better.
