I would mention the first movement of Ciaikovski's Serenade for Strings or the first movement of Bach's Brandenburg No.1. Here the main issue is not tempo or pitch but rather balance. It is not that infrequent to find performances where the former is turned into a concerto for double basses and strings and the latter into a concerto for solo horns with some ripieno instruments around.L.
