Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Jack DeJohnette, Airto, Dave Holland, Marcus Miller, Billy Cobham, Reggie Lucas...The list is much, much longer. That's off the top-of-my-head and all musicians that made a substantial mark.
There's also Joe Zawinul & John McLaughin who went on to be as influential as Miles Davis.
I still think the wisest way to view Miles Davis' ouvre is as a whole and not broken into the many sub-genres of music he helped create. I value Cookin' as highly as Bitches Brew as highly as KOB as highly as Pangea. To me they are equally valuble musically even if for completely different reasons. I can understand why many would disagree and consider myself fortunate that I don't.
