Nowadays, until I discover a more emotive music, if possible, it is the KANON POKAJANEN, a choral work from the estonian composer Arvo Pärt, written in 1996. The canon is part of the morning office in the Greek-Russian Orthodox Church which appears in the earliest Church Slavonic manuscripts (c. year 700).
It is sing by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Tönu Kaljuste conductor, on a 2 CD set (ECM NEW SERIES 1654/55).Even after 4 years I own this recording I can't listen to these heavenly voices without having my eyes wet.
I have to add that I heard this piece of music sung by the Estonian Choir in live concert during La Folle Journée, a yearly festival in my town, and it was the trigger which made me to come back to intensive listening of classical music . . . and being an Audio Asylum inmate.
