I agree, but I am able to listen to her albums at times when I am not looking for musical innovation and just want something easy and soothing to listen to. I saw her live right after she put out Girl in the Other Room and enjoyed the show. Her band was spot on and she let them all have more featured roles in the songs than on her studio albums.
I recently saw Alicia Keys. She also featured her band in the show. She actually stepped off stage twice and let her back up vocalist lead on a song and her guitarist lead an all instrumental. the only other act I have seen do that is Shelia E who had her whole band including her, rotate through the instruments every song. What a multi-talented bunch.
I do use "Like Someone in Love" as one of the tracks for evaluating changes to my system.
