Equipment: Stuff you love, and will never sell, even if not in current use (me first)

#1) Audio Research Sp-15 preamp. I aquired it through a complex set of trades which basically gave it to me for free. Amazing deal. So Besides liking it a whole lot, I think of it as a super trophy! So I will never sell it. I do currently use it some times, for my second TT phono section. As the Sp-15 has a rather nice three tube phono section in an otherwise all SS construction.

#2)VAC Standard preamp. use it as a 'glorified tube buffer'. I tried a cheap tube buffer and it was useless. So i was looking and ran into a great deal on the VAC. I never really heard of VAC before, but saw the ad, did fifteen minutes a Google research and jumped for it. Glad i did. It 'fixes' digital issues totally, without any veiling. And my digital sound is as good as the vinyl. So I am super happy with it. It has a permanent home here!

Sony SCD777ES. I hardly ever use it, but it is probably the best CD player I will ever own. I got it as a demo unit. It IS slightly better than my changers-to-DAC on redbook, but i keep it for special rare occasions. (I own very few SACDs anyway)

Kuzma Stabi Stogi S turntable. The brass pipes/cover look so cool. It is my second (spare) TT (I use it with the Audio Research Sp-15)

Furman REF20i conditioner. Lucky find used close enough to go pick up. great product. My last conditioner, after upgrading many times. I also use a PS Audio P600 with the optional board so i can run it at 110hz A/C output. It too is rather special, but I could live witout it. But I doubt I would ever sell it.

Audio research PH-2. Totally balanced phono box. not any reviews, but it rocks with a good conditioner. Underrated, and bought for a fraction of list. I do not think i can part with it. I posted a for sale ad at a rediculous high price ($1,200) a ways back. The original price was $2,500. but it is just too much of an unknown. (The wording of my ad did not help matters any..LOL)

Rudistor RPX33mk2 headphone amp. I bought it used and I thought it sucked at first with an etched sound using my (new) Sennheiser HD800 phones. Inceredible clarity I had never heard before, but really fatiguing. I stuck it in the closet as a failed buy. A YEAR later i took it out to decide to sell it, and plugged it back in and was WTF !! this sound wonderful. I would guess my headphones had finally broken in. Great sound.

Home made interconnects of old Mark Levinson wire. I bought the wire way back in the early 1980s. the only RCA around were Radio Shack, so I made up a pile of IC with it. A few years ago they were in my closet, and I decided to upgrade the cheap Radio Shack connectors with some Vampire 'tiffany; style RCA. WOW great upgrade. and i use these wires again in my system. They remind me of Cardas. I only wish I had bought a whole spool of that wire at $2 a foot. As is I have about 10 sets of ICs made from that wire.

My only and last surround speakers for home theater. Canton CD300/CD360 aquired for a song, combo new and demo at a 'blow out' sale locally. 1/3 retail is way cheap. They do all I will ever need for home theater. Great clarity, which is what i really value a lot. Sound even better when the receiver is run from a Furman conditioner. The sound through these with a Furman is what got me to search for and buy the Furman REF20i conditioner I use.

Everything else is what I have now, and would upgrade if I had more money... These things are KEEPERS. Stuff I love to own, and would have a hard time not having around.

I love my magnepan 3.6s speakers.. but i would trade up to 20.7s anytime I had the money.. Ditto my amp..I like it, but if I had some money.. hah.
