Well, the Audience arp2-T model is pretty eye-opening. First time I've actually HEARD the unequivocal results of a line conditioner. That was at the 10 hour mark, with a 500 hour break-in time suggested for "maxiumum effectiveness." It's up to 80 (hours) now, and I have to say, it reduces the sense of one's listening a recording, perhaps by removing noise, because now music sounds as though its being played by human beings and not just notes coming out of the ether of "silent background"-ness. It also sounds more like-it's-happening-right-now-and-not-50-years-ago, too.(Live or Memorex?)
I guess the best word for it is "continousness," a sound very similar to the Jadis Defy-7 and JP-80 preamps. A sense of "living sound" as in a live mike feed from the Metropolitan Opera on a decent tuner: when it goes silent, you still hear the ambient environment resounding.
I wasn't one of the choir of joyous angels singing hosannas about this line conditioner years ago: I only got that arp-1 a year ago, but it certainly is the Real McCoy.
If the "jump" factor is going to improve (I'm at the 80- hour mark now), that's going to be dazzling. I can already hear that aspect of the sound. And unlike the first generation of Audience conditioners, it's very uncolored. The arp 1 model I also own seems darker, like the difference between 100- and 60- watt light bulbs .
