As usual I have a fundamental disagreement with your overall assessment of the reasons, i.e., digitization and poor recording quality, behind the ills afflicting the music industry, but I am really surprised by your comments re the ridicule directed at ELP. Solti, Szell, the Eagles, Getz, Toscanini, & Metheny. Reaction to these performers has always been somewhat mixed (Some more than others, e.g., Metheny, the Eagles, Solti, & ELP) and there have been differences between critics and the public in several instances, but I frankly am unaware that they are all now the subject of ridicule. I must be doing my reading in all the wrong places, because I just don't see this.
