Once again, I think the poster is referring to audiophile recordings, not equipment. And if I am reading that correctly, then the MUSIC that is available on NON-audiophile recordings far exceeds in quality and quantity all the music available on audiophile pressings. So, he's saying (to me), forget the 45rpm set of Belefonte at Carnegie Hall (to pick one example which may in itself qualify as a great recording all round) and listen to all of the other Belefonte recordings, including old lps and dynagrove versions etc etc. Quit drinking by audiophile label, in other words, and just, what?,,,,listen to music.
