Re: What is the best way to report a bad seller at audiogon?

It will come around... at least, it should.

Some months ago, I sold an item but did not pack it as well as I should have. I usually do; this one was not the original box and I misjudged what was needed, but at the time I believed I was packing properly.

It arrived with damage. The buyer sent me pics and suggested a figure that would constitute partial refund/reimbursement of repair expenses. I could have shrugged him off, as I did act in good faith. However, I paid him that figure the same day. We left + feedback for each other.

Fast forward several weeks. I bought something, almost identical scenario. It arrived with damage due to insufficient packing. Identical scenario, as I said. I suggested a number, he paid right away, we left + feedback.

Not saying the universe always smiles/frowns on you that quickly in return, and maybe you will never get to learn of this guys's misfortune, but trust me, it will happen.

But that's probably small solace. Do pursue any avenue for restitution you can. It seems Agon makes it quite tedious, but with the amount involved I would think it's worth it.

Question - you called him a "bad seller", and said "preamps", both terms seeming to imply you know he does this regularly and on purpose. Is that the case? Then you should post his name and ID here to warn others, and you will cost him some "sales" (read: ripoff opps).
