It was they who introduced me to classical with their variations on Copland, Moussorgsky, and Ginastera."I think digitized playback has mangled this band's music as much as any.... Before digitization, ELP was a big audiophile fave, after digitization, it became "just another rock band"....
I think ELP's "Karn Evil 9" is one of the all-time great rock works.... I think one of the things that makes one obsessive about hi-fi is being able to capture the dynamic and rhythmic complexities of such music. Not to mention one work I regret never hearing live.
