Mono + phase invert on left channel : this feature of the preamp allows to check for channel differences of recordings or source components. The preamp is professional and apparently it's a feature used in pro-environment.From the literaure I've read absolute polarity is essentially a monophonic phenomenon, so it should be audible on a mono setup.
The fact that the behaviour (phase, distortion) of components, speakers in particular, is supposed to affect audibility, more extensive tests would be needed to verify/confirm/nullify.
I will run a 2nd test with my speakers in the minimum phase mode and see what results I get. I'll keep you posted.
