I agree with the comments below. The comment I read about the purchase was that Mcintosh would still be fully independant. Better to have an owner that wants to see it's continued success rather than one that is losing interest (this is not a comment on Clarion, but their focus is on car audio, so they may have lost interest in the market for home audio). If you look at the other brands in the stable both are well respected: Denon a well-regarded mid-fi brand, Marantz a well-regarded upper mid-fi brand, and now Mcintosh, the obvious high-end brand. I think Mcintosh will do great under this new opportunity.
