Small scale production allows for such things. Much tougher to do in higher volume manufacturing.Let's say you manufacture 50 sets of loudspeakers a day. (peanuts) You then "burn-in" each set for 100 hours (4.17 days). In those 4.17 days you have now made 208.5 SETS of speakers, all sitting somewhere being fed by something, and all making quite a racket. At month's end, you've manufactured 1,500 sets of loudspeakers, all requiring 4.17 days of "burn-in". Tell me, where are you going to accomplish this feat, how much wherehouse space will it require, and how much more are you willing to pay for such a service?
