I had a Gaincard and enjoyed it very much. It to date is the best solid state amp I have heard. I suspect there is much to its short signal path. There is no doubt that others can copy it, but whether their efforts can equal it or very much in doubt. If you like it and can afford it, go for it. Certainly none of the cheap copies have any value on resale.
