1) That “sense of the original recording air / hall†dose not come form HF only but from a combination of HF, properly structured upper bass and ULF. Though the CEC’s bass could be made up (rectifiers and caps) but it still a different bass, though it could be made up enough amplitude-wise. CEC’s bass is very similar to VPI and Basis TT’s bass… if you know what I mean. I think the problem with the suspension of the disc drive. I really do not wont to go in those jungles…@) Yes, Jensens are fine caps.
