Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Nice work!

This tool for Foobar is very powerful!

It would be nice if it could scan the file automatically and find the highest level. But probably Adobe Audition and/or Audacity can do that sort of work. It won't be decoded, but it doesn't have to be. For a raw file, the signal has to reach -3 dBFS for the Peak Extend to be activated.

As far as the Transient Filter goes, I don't think the mastering engineer can turn this feature on or off. It is just a function of the PM analyzing the incoming signal and selecting one of two filters on the fly. But there is no decoding that is performed. I'm really not sure why that information was even encoded in the hidden subcode. It's purely of academic interest.

As far as "FAKE" HDCDs, I wouldn't be too disappointed. The main thing is that the PM A/D converter is still one of the best in the world. So even if no features were engaged (and no decoding is required), it still produces a very nice sounding disc.
