I also reduce the CDP output to 58. This matches the output level of my tubed phono stage (Hagtech Cornet) so my preamp volume knob has similar loudness response with either source component.I've run the CDP directly into my amplifier which sounded fine but I like the tone a little better when running through my Cary SLP-2002 preamp.
Using Amperex 7316 tubes in my 308-T and love it!
