Thank you for the quick reply, QE. I did as you suggested, but still measure +3DCV on both the right and left channels. I also verified that the voltmeter measured zero ohms when touching the leads and then measured DC resistance as .OL, an open circuit, when the capacitor was connected between them. So it looks like I've messed something up.I'm still bothered by the fact that the cap is not blocking DCV, though. Even when I connect it to the center pole of the cd player's RCA output, +3DCV is measured on the other lead. This lead is hanging in air, not connected to anything...
So I guess the question is, am I really harming anything by allowing DCV to reach the amp inputs?
