You are confusing line level posts with phono level posts, obviously, the two have huge differences in the signal levels, and in problems with hum pickup and RFI.

What one can 'get away with' for line level cables, is seldom acceptable for phono level cables. What about moving coil cartridges? We are down ANOTHER 10-20 dB in signal level, and thus that much more sensitive to possible hum and RFI problems.

Your particual phono cables use a woven geometry, and this in essence, does provide a certain amount of 'self-shielding' due to the weave.
Thus, you own personal experience is not only atypical, it is in addition, unusual due to the specific geometry.

When I give advice, it is with an eye toward everyone, with the vast majority of typical situations. Sure, there are going to be exceptions, unusual situations, these are not the norm, and do not represent what most folks will encounter. You are speaking ONLY from your specific personal experiences with your system. When I comment on cables, I am not refering ONLY to my systems (I have two), but literally dozens of different test beds, different situations. I do not take a single instance of a system to represent everyone else's probable experience with the results.
