BTW, on all of my "DBS" cables, including Omega Mikro power cord and Aural Thrills interconnects, I now prefer the sound with the battery disconnected in my current setup!
Also, if you are following Audioquest recipe, shouldn't you put the bias on the outer braid shield for better even coverage and then also put bias in the middle of cables so the orientation of DBS is uniform? Wrapping a bare wire around the outside really is not doing much b/c there's so much open area not being covered..
