oops, well, I did say, I wasn't sure I should trust my ears first thing in the morning and after having just plugged the damn things in.Just did a quick AB with some careful listening for a few hours, and I'm not so sure anymore. I think I detected some changes but not so sure now. Plus, I realized there was a variable in the ointment: When I switched out the power cords for the first time, that was the first time my CD player had been turned off in months. Could be something to look out for, I'd say.
I am only dealing with the cd player cord right now, and I will post back my findings, but at this point, I think I should go ahead and let the new cord burn in for a good while. *Then* I will take a night and redo my listening tests.
Hehe, slow and steady wins the race all, and careful listening always involves backtracking and hesitating. Besides, we are all amateurs without editors deadlines, so we can chill ;)
