Yup. Most are from the ASR "best specs at lowest price" crowd.
I still think the Fosi V3 might be fun to try at those low risk prices.
Follow Ups:
Abe,
I haven't heard the V3 but I do have a pair of Fosi ZA3 amps I'm using in bridged mode with a tube preamp. They really do sound very good.
Looks like you're driving your Fosi ZA3 with my all time favorite tube preamp! I had one many years ago but due to a downsizing move and change in audio rack I let mine go.
I'm going to wait for 'general availability' on the Fosi V3. I might give them a try then.
What's amazing to me is that how good those amps sound with a preamp that costs much more. All this started because I changed speakers. Neither my Willsenton R300B nor my Luxman MQ-88u were a good match for the Magnepan LRS+. I did give in to the ZA3 opamp swap suggestions but being a little skeptical I decided to limit the risk. I installed a pair of MUSES8820 at $7.85 each from Mouser. I'd say the change was subtle. Perhaps a bit warmer. Or not.
read the specs and decide! ;)
