i recently went from an origin live modified rb250 ( internal rewire and structural mod )to an origin live silver II tone arm . now ,if i hadn't heard it for myself i would never have believed there could be so much difference in the sound . vastly improved detail , timing , bass , treble , timing , dynamics , everything in fact . no way i could go back ; the music is alive now in a way it never was before . and now i can appreciate my an kit one in a way i never realised it was capable of before

Hi RichardPleased to hear you've got an arm that really does the job for you. Just out of interest, does the OL SilverII use copper litz or silver?
It looks like your old arm was the stock R250 with the modified counterweight and OL copper litz. The AN Arm One also introduces copper litz to the R250, but also AN-A as the external rewire, but no modified counterweight (yet?).
The AN Arm Two then introduces pure silver litz and AN-V external cable, so it would interesting to see what OL do here?
Thanks,
hi andy
when i asked mark at origin live what the diference between the modified rb250 and the silver arm was he said it was in the armtube and the bearing rather than the wiring . as far as i know the wiring is the same in the fully modded rb250 and the silver . changing the wiring made a much more subtle difference in sound . check the origin live website for details .

I think I have found a decent soultion, AN Arm 2 with the techno weight. The Arm two has the silver wiring. Should have it all together late next week, will report back.I have read a number of threads regarding the rega paint removal, mostly from a camp that in my opinion likes a "ringing" or want or to add ambience. I am not criticising this. I cannot ever envision mself scraping pain off a tonearm, I would always be paranoid I did more harm than good.
