Greetings, I'm new to this section of the Asylum but I hope you can give me some insight. I know you will all probably think I'm crazy or just ignore me, but does anyone have any experience w/ AN Preamp kits used w/ Solid State amps(specifically Quad 909)?? My speakers are not efficient enough to use SET amplification and I also am just not interested in low powered tube amps. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I like that .Cheers,
Unlike most audiophiles(I like to think) I'm really honest about my problems. I'm a gear head that loves music. If it doesn't look cool, it doesn't matter how good it sounds. It must sound incredible and have looks to match!! Fortunately for me, there is quite a bit of gear out there that looks and sounds incredible (i.e. Lamm monos at 18watts/per, tenor, cJ, AN, burmester, Sim audio and the list goes on)...
I do agree that if the first few watts are crap then whats the point, but I need a few more. All I need is about 50-55 good tube watts and thats it. I will add a sub anyway....
Peace my feeble watted friend!

I have used my M2 preamp with many ss-amps with very good results, among them an old Quad 405-II.
This is a nice way to get the great Audio Note sound without having to "keep it down".
Go buy the biggest and best amp you can afford.
