Hi HKL,Plan for 150mA of +12V.
You may add any amount of resistance to lower the output impedance to any value that you want. However, the output level will drop with the impedance. 300 Ohms was chosen to give 2 VRMS output. Read the article on the passive output at the link below for a discussion of the passive output stage.
