Sounds good. So, what components are needed to put together a passive output DAC?Regards,
Follow Ups:
Hi Kevin,The passive output stage kit includes a PC board, two LL1674 transformers, two resistors, two RCA jacks and mounting hardware. Simplicity!
I am writing an article to help those wanting to build their own output stage. I expect to have it up on the Raleigh Audio site in a few days.
Dave,Thank you, but I think I didn't ask the question correctly. I was looking for information on what components are needed to put together the DAC with the passive output stage option, including the power supply. By the way, is the power supply come with the transformer?
Thank you,
You will need three things from K&K Audio: the RAKK dac Kit, The Passive Output Stage Kit and the RAKK dac Power Supply Kit. The latter includes the transformer (can be used at 115v or 230vAC). You will also need some kind of an enclosure, AC mains socket or cord, some wire, and a power switch and fuse holder.

Would I be needing the clock kit?Regards,
The RAKK dac works with or without the XO-DAC. The XO-DAC provides a lower jitter clock to the DAC chip and results in a somewhat more open, detailed sound.

Is it better to leave the DAC in power-on state or it is recommended to turn it off when not in use.Regards,
Leave it on.
