is easier to implement?

Hi Bas,Basically that is it. The two chips are the same from an audio standpoint but different from a control standpoint. The PCM1792 is best controlled by a microprocessor while the PCM1794 is best if you don't have a microprocessor. Of course there is lots of versatility if you have a microprocessor but for a basic DAC, which most people want, a hardwired PCM1794 is the way to go.
The evaluation board produced by TI has a PCM1792 and sounded good enough to encourage us to proceed with the project. The RAKK DAC sounds a lot better than the evaluation board. I attribute that to a lot of things but not the DAC chip.

Have you got any pics yet? Or is it still being tweaked?
Pictures will be available when we have finalized the board and get a final sample built. Final tweaking is still going on. However, as it is now it sounds fabulous!
