Return to K&K Audio / Lundahl Transformers
I'm using a LL1676 as an output transformer for an LA-2A compressor. I find that I can't get the output level hot enough to drive a +4 input. It seems to just clip at about -6db.
If I go into a -10db input then I can get a good level without clipping or distortion. Should'nt I be able to reach a +4 output?

Freddy,I normally can reach +15 at 20Hz and more at higher frequencies with an LL1676 in a parafeed circuit. What is the load impedance you are trying to drive?

Kevin,
I usually go in to my Layla soundcard, balanced. It has an input impedance of 10k

Shouldn't be a problem. Check the grid drive to the output tube (12BH7A) with a scope when driving the output just past clipping with a 'scope to see if the drive to the output stage is OK.
