Hi!I'm using a pair of DIY fullrange speakers according to Thorsten Loesch's Afterburner idea.
My Afterburner enclosure is a bass relex one with a 12inch Russian Lomo 4A32 as the speaker chassis. These speakers are very good (as TL says ;-) ) copies of the Goodmans 201.
I started the Afterburners using the originally suggested Eminence Beta 12LT and the add on tweeters, but the Lomos are much better. If you are interested in, I can send you some pictures.

Wow! Russian Goodmans Clones?Gotta have a pair of those!!!
Can you post pictures?
Hi,If you would like me to send the pics to your email account, please let me know your email adress.
Hi Matthias,
Yes i would be interested in the Lomo pictures. I've read a lot of good things about them but never actually seen them.

Hi Brian, what's the easiest way to post some pics here when you don't have them on a web site/server?
I've got several pictures here from different Lomo versions and some pics of Lomos that look like mine.
Note: There is not only one driver version. You can find many different versions with different magnets (even some which are not Alnico) and different baskets. The most important things one can say is that these drivers have monster baskets, are build like a tank, are really ugly (sorry, there is no other word), and sound like magic. And because of the basket's geometry, you have to mount them from the back side of your baffle.
Hi Matthias,
If you can email the pics, I'll put up a link so we cn all take a looksee.
Is it Golden Middle (?) still selling them?

Brian,I'm not sure if Golden Middle still sell them.
I bought mine from a German guy who bought several pairs of them directly in Russia.
Thanks Matthias.

Hi,please note that the open baffle design is not mine. It's Carsten's (carawu) design. He's another German Lomo Fan.
My pair of Lomos sit in the shown 110 litres Afterburner enclosure with a back facing reflex port.BTW: Now you know what I mean when I say "they are ugly", don't you? ;-) But these Lomo speakers are really heavy-duty ones.
I think they look GREAT!
Or in this case the Ear of the beholder.Do you prefer the sound of these in the open baffle or BR cabinet?
Hi Dave,> > Do you prefer the sound of these in the open baffle or BR cabinet?
BR because of the much better bass impact. Maybe it depends on what kind of music you hear, but for Jazz, Pop, Rock, Black, I like the BR more.
What is a little tricky for the Lomos (but worth the time), is the adjustment of the reflex port.
Mine now is about 21x7cm with the lenght of the enclosures backwall, which is 2.1cm.
