After all, almost all the music we love has been mastered using DSP. Why not re-master yourself? I don't have an EMU so I can't try DSP Patchwrok software. I have had amazing results with SRS Sandbox plug-in and J River. My impression is that DSP is potentially far more important to sound quality than the usual stuff most discussion focuses on: the importance of ASIO, cables, avoiding the K-mixer, bit-perfect, etc.
