I thought I would share with everyone my foray into DSP and Internet radio.

I've been an aol subscriber for longer than necessary in order to get the XM station, Audio Visions. Aol, EQs some of its stations and the streams are much better sounding than XM's own. This past week Aol severed its distribution contract with XM and I had to revert back to the XM stream--it's frankly horrible. So I went to work with my Emu's Patchwork software. It took a while but I discovered a great mix of session plugins that literally transform the sound. Its a mix of multiple core EQs and reverb plugins.

Interestingly, the session mix works wonders on poor sounding recordings as well. Its like a miracle drug (when it works). I applied it to some thin and nasty sounding Ella recordings and, my goodness, she appeared right in my room.

If anyone here uses an EMU or their core DSP Patchwrok software, I can send you the session mix. Its frankly amazing.

Peter
