Greets!
You're welcome! Sorry I hadn't got back to you, but had/have a pretty full 'plate' and MJK's adjustable BSC (aka 'contour' or CD EQ ckt.) is all you really need IMO (at least WRT the woofer section), which is so well documented/proven that I didn't see the need.
Anyway, define 'strange' as I've used plenty of these types of ckts. to tame all manner of speaker/horn alignments and it isn't a word I would use to describe their sonic effect.
In the tube amp's heyday it was listed, but typically not for today's boutique offerings. Anyway, once you have the woofer/horn properly balanced you can put a cheap 0-25 ohm pot in series to flatten the speaker's response, then measure how much resistance it took. More than likely you won't find an amp with the right output impedance unless it has an adjustable bass control (adjustable DF).
Note that the extreme HF will probably sound rolled off, so you may need either a by-pass cap on the horn's L-pad or a larger value if CD EQ is used, even with a tube amp. Note too that Jay's cab is designed for up against the wall positioning and bottom venting to get a decent amount of LF gain BW out of a too small cab for tuning to ~Fs, so if out in the room there won't be much bass no matter how much EQ you use. It will just reach a point of having an increasingly 'flabby'/'bloated' mid-bass as more resistance is dialed in.
WRT XO upgrades, Jeff did one specifically for Jay AFAIK since I didn't find it in his 604 XO selection, with this one appearing at a glance to being the closest, though I recommend you use Jay's if he and/or Jeff will let you: http://home.earthlink.net/~jmarkwart/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/604_8Hpcwmfeq.pdf
