The 604 is a low, not high, Q driver, ergo needs a high output impedance to balance it out over a wide BW. SET typically has the highest, but any topology can be configured for whatever output impedance works best for a given system even if it's just a resistor in series, though the latter obviously isn't an efficient way to do it.
Typically a damping factor (DF) = 1 (aka matching impedance) is the point of diminishing returns, so if the speaker is 8 ohms, then 8 ohms of output impedance, though ultra low Qts speakers may need more if tuned low in a large cab.
