Hi Max,You are correct the RAKK DAC tube output board is the same (with refinements) as the middle and back end of the Raleigh Audio Line Stage. What is missing is the front end, which includes the input transformer and volume control. You are going to need this front end for a preamplifier. You also need this front end for a combined unit if you want a volume control. I haven't yet figured how to incorporate a volume control into the DAC (don't even say digital!). So the short answer is that I haven't yet figured a way to share the preamplifier and DAC functions.
As for your options:
DAC board to selector switch to TVC - Nope, I don't think so. Voltage levels and impedance ratios are not right.
DAC board to selector switch to Raleigh linestage boards - See note above.
DAC board to passive DAC output stage to selector switch to TVC - Sleepy time down south.
DAC board to passive DAC output board to selector switch to Raleigh linestage boards – Very good, but lacking the life of the following two combinations. I could live with this combination and you would need an excellent system to take advantage of the difference between this and the following two.
DAC board to balanced active DAC output stage to selector switch to TVC - Excellent!DAC board to balanced active DAC output stage to selector switch to Raleigh linestage boards - Excellent!
