My vote is for the Ella wired for triode operation. My B&W CDM1SE's are approx. 88dB efficient and I get plenty volume, plenty dynamics and improved sound over the standard setup. Mod is very easy and reduces power to about 15-20 Watts. Lots of other mods to keep you interested if thats your thing.
I compared the circuit to others in the Triode Electronics site and it closely resembles the "Williamson" circuit from - the '50's, I think. There's nothin' new under the sun.
