 You'd be better off spending that kind of cash on AKG, BeyerDynamic or Sennheisers for example.

 The demo headphones at Best Buy had bits falling off them, so I'm not impressed by the build quality.

Anything that has "pro" in the name usually isn't. Although I believe Sony's MDR7506 'phones are used a lot for music and motion picture production. I'm surprised Sony doesn't take advantage of this reputation and make a bling version.
