Anyone hear any releases from this label? They have many "remastered" box sets available at bargain prices. I just ordered an eight-album CD box set of Anita O'Day, so I guess I'll be able to hear myself when they arrive. But am curious of your experience.

I suspect it is a European label, and that they are getting their
material from previously released CDs or LPs.

Some of these european reissue labels are quite good - Lone Hill and
the older Fresh Sound come to mind. Some are excellent on older
material - JSP comes to mind, and Proper isn't too bad either. But a
lot of them are not good at all.

Most do have the primary virtue of being cheap ...

I should have known better - eight albums on four CDs for $13. Sounded too good to be true. And it is! These recordings were "digitally remastered and enhanced for superior quality". What a load of CRAP! I have a few of these on original CD release from Verve to compare. No comparison. The sound of these "remastered" ones is very muffled. Anita's voice clarity is almost OK, though with a slightly strange, unnatural quality, but almost OK. Everything else sounds like the band was in the fully carpeted spare bedroom down the hall playing with the door closed. I am glad I only threw $13 down the toilet on these. If this company's other releases are anything like this one - stay away! Sorry folks, you'll have to pay the piper elsewhere for decent sound.
