Wanting to bypass the fuses by releasing/connecting brown wires to opposite end of fuse box - I find the brown wires have already been released and connected to the lower right jumpers – obviously the fuses have been bypassed – what I don’t understand is the configurations intent (brown to lower jumpers) – someone please explain – bought the Maggie’s two years ago used with fuses in holders ☺ is this a botched attempt to bypass the fuses?

This one not as abused ☺

Looks like someone modified that system for bi-wiring or passive bi-amping, but without the ability to connect in the conventional (jumpers utilized) configuration without un-modifying or re-configuring.

Cheers,

Dave.

I’m also passive bi-amping – what needs to be done to correct for proper configuration Davey?

The schematic diagram is in the tweaks section. Just rewire back to that configuration and you can operate either normally or in a passive-biamp/bi-wire mode.

the fuse wire only goes to the tweeter section,,

in lieu of doing my bypass this way I just wired from the hot side of teh fuse directly to the tweeter wire and left the original wires in place if I elect to ever return them to normal,,

I did find it takes a tad of heat to melt all the solder for a proper connection,, is easy to to just obtain a cold joint if your not careful,,

Thanks Dave – are you suggesting this configuration disables conventional hook up? Prior to the acquisition of the two identical amps (passive bi-amp) the conventional hook up works fine – schematics are not my forte but if the brown wire was released and connected back to the opposite end of the fuse box the fuse would still be bypassed whilst restoring the original schematics sans fuse –does this assumption sound right?
