Image: KLE Innovations Silver Harmony RCA Plugs (redesigned Eichmann Bullet Plug with pure silver ground contact, silver plated copper hollow center pin).

A redesigned "second generation Eichmann Bullet Plug" sold under the new KLE Innovations brand (Keith Louis Eichmann) is one of three models that feature pure silver and/or silver plated copper contacts and a more robust mechanical build. Early reports suggest substantial sonic betterment vs. both the copper and the silver Eichmann Bullet Plugs.

A set of mid-line KLE Silver Harmony (pure silver ground contact, silver plated copper hollow center pin) on sale now for $59.95 ($90 retail) sourced from Parts ConneXion is in the mail for use in a new DIY interconnect cable project in the works. I'll post an evaluation down the road.

Hi
What kind of cable are you planning to use with these rca plugs?

Image: DIY Wireworld Equinox 6 interconnects (Ohno Continuous Cast copper, Composilex 1 composite material dielectric, DNA Helix twisted flat ribbon cable geometry) terminated with KLE Innovations Silver Harmony RCA Plugs (redesigned Eichmann Bullet Plug with pure silver ground contact, silver plated copper hollow center pin, dual set-screw strain relief).

Wireworld Equinox 6 bulk interconnect cable is available for $5.99 per foot. Based on my experience of the Wireworld Equinox 6 with factory terminated Wireworld Silver Tube rca connectors, and my experience of the original Eichmann Bullet Plug, the new KLE Innovations Silver Harmony RCA Plug may provide beneficial synergy, perhaps a more linear tonality including tighter bass and increased treble energy among other possibilities when mated with the Wireworld Equinox 6 bulk interconnect cable. At the very least, a worthwhile DIY cable experiment I'm looking forward to building/evaluating.

I'd be interested in what you think.
How are you connecting the + and - configuration?

The red and white conductors soldered to the center pin (+), the two black conductors soldered to the ground pin (-).

Thanks for your reply.
Saw the Equinox cable for sale as bulk. Have considered making some XLR cables with the Vampire XLR connectors but have not done it yet. Guess its a top notch cable.
My setup is mostly balanced. I have heard and read that material quality in the cables it not as important in balanced systems. Whats your thaughts on this question?

Material quality for both types of cables is equally important. The benefit of a balanced cable is based on being less prone to noise (vs. unbalanced) due to the nature of the balanced I/O circuitry, whereas the conductive and dielectric materials of a balanced cable still behave like other types of cables, with better materials tending to provide better performance levels.

Thanks for bringing attention to this cable, the pairing with the KLE's exceeded all expectations. Actually rendered a enveloping soundstage with headphones, no small feat.

My speaker system is bi-amped with the low cross around 150Hz. The dac/preamp has both balanced and single ended outputs. The balanced out is Vampire copper XLR's to rca's (bass amp has rca input only). Do you feel that the KLE's will make a difference in this low range as opposed to just using Switchcrafts?

I fully agree regarding an enveloping soundstage presentation. I soon found a more emersive HT experience via the Equinox 6/Silver Harmony combo, with excellent coherence including at the frequency extremes, and natural sounding imaging, among other findings. I like the new KLE Innovations Silver Harmony rca connector so much, that I ordered an additional set for another DIY interconnect cable project.

I highly recommend you use the KLE Innovations Silver Harmony rather than a Switchcraft product for a low frequency application. My impression is the KLE helps present articulated, well-controlled, and extended bass.

Hi Duster, how does the Equinox 6/Silver Harmony combo sound? There are alot of wires in the Equinox 6 cable. Did you find them easy to solder to the Silver Harmony plug pins... thanks

Well stated observation regarding the coherence at frequency extremes. My OTA amp uses EP Partial Silver Secondaries that showcase frequency extremes and these cables bring forth previously missing synergy.

Also accurate and well stated bass observations. I appreciate your recommendation so will use the KLE's on the bi-amped bottom.

Drat... Ordering that second set means paying shipping twice, that's the price to pay for trying them first... but now the KLE's Silvers went back up to regular price!

I once came across a comparison of the mid-line KLE Innovations Silver Harmony rca connector vs. the lower-cost KLE Innovations Copper Harmony rca connector (silver plated copper for both the center pin and the ground pin), and although the report indicated the Silver Harmony sounded better to the particular listener, I'm not convinced of an actual issue of superiority unless I compare them with my own ears, not to mention a comparison with the top-of-the-line KLE Innovations Pure Harmony which features both a pure silver center pin and a pure silver ground pin. Perhaps it could be that the sonic signature of pure silver is emphasized vs. that of a silver plated copper design, of which I happen to like the sound of when implemented as a conductive material for an rca connector build. Perhaps it's a simple matter of three flavors to choose from, but that's just me pondering, as I do not know. In support of that notion, another report found that the Copper Harmony sounded better than an Eichmann Silver Bullet, so pure silver vs. silver plated copper did not matter according to that subjective opinion.

Yes, good job finding the links.

My next DIY cable project will be the new VH Audio Pulsar Cu II OCC copper interconnect cable terminated with KLE Innovations Silver Harmony rca connectors.

I have now tried them and just thought that I would let you know that they are excellent. Interestingly, they are noticeably better than the KLEI Silver®Harmony Phono/RCA Plugs and even better the Pure Harmony...

Here's a review but I will try to write up a detailed post of my impressions also :)
