Built this little guy a few days ago. Sounds pretty sweet, easy on the wallet. The only thing I had to buy for it was the Edcor XSE25-2.5K-8 transformers, which were only $30/ea. Agrees real nice with my open baffle speakers. Measures pretty well too. Partial dual regulated supplies, and uses only cheap tubes.

0.31% THD+N at 1 watt
2.8 watts @ 1% THD+N
4.8 watts @ 5% THD+N

Can you try an experiment? Can you bridge them and see what the power v. distortion looks? I am curious as to how the elimination of most of the even HD will do to the appearant specifications.

  you could use a 6AB4 in place of the half of the 12AT7. They're cheap and good.

    don't have any in my boxes, but 7-pin sockets are dirt cheap - looks like a good contender for a future project if I snag some somewhere.
