If you don't need more sound isolation, then adding a second layer to make the walls thicker is not a good idea. That will just make the bass response in the room worse, not better.

Even if I am willing to add basstrap, diffuser and absorbing panel ?
Adding bass traps wail help, but why make the room worse to begin with if you don't need to? Again, rigid walls help isolation, but harm the low frequency response.
