The first pic is the center of the ceiling, which is 12 feet high, the second is the ceiling and wall behind the listener. It is the upper wall the speakers fire toward. These (4) panels, following Risch DIY made a huge improvement! All for $80!! I want to thank my wife for her help making them and her off the chart WAF! What improved sound-wise is the HF mono info. Much clearer and succinct. Image depth increased. Stereo image got wider and more coherent. Bass, especially the lowest octaves improved a lot. Small details in recordings like Michael McDonalds vocal part in "Babylon Sister" became easier to hear. I strongly recommend anyone with a cathedral ceiling to do this tweak. Thanks to Ethan Winer and David Aiken for encouraging this in posts here on Rives forum. Now it's time to listen more! Don't forget to tweak the room! Thanks again - WOW!

Glad you're happy with the results.
It's easy to talk about frequency response and a lot of other things when we talk acoustics but the 'unquantifiable' aspects of successful treatment are those aspects like coherence and clarity (things becoming easier to hear) that you mention. They can't be measured but they're the things that help us to enjoy the music more and they're the real reasons for improving your room acoustics. They're the results that really count. It's not worth doing if you don't get those benefits and treatment genuinely does deliver those benefits when it's done well.
